These terms are a binding agreement between you and Kaiveni Hiya Pvt Ltd. By creating an account or using the app or website you accept them. Please read the sections on your own responsibility, meeting other members, and our limits of liability carefully — they set out what we are and are not responsible for.

1Who May Use Kaiveni Hiya

Kaiveni Hiya is for adults who are seeking marriage and are legally free to marry. By using the service you confirm that all of the following are true, and that they remain true for as long as you hold an account.

  • You are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter this agreement and to marry.
  • You are genuinely seeking marriage, and you are not prohibited from marrying under the law that applies to you.
  • You have never been convicted of a sexual offence, an offence involving violence against another person, or child abuse.
  • You hold one account only, in your own name, and you do not create a new one after we have removed you.
  • Every detail you give us is true, and you keep it up to date — including your marital status if it changes.

2What Kaiveni Hiya Is, and What It Is Not

We are an introduction platform. We give members a place to present themselves honestly, to find others with compatible intentions, and to involve their families from the start. Everything that happens after an introduction is between you and the other member.

  • We are not a marriage bureau, a matchmaking agency, a counselling service, or a legal or religious authority.
  • We do not arrange, negotiate, witness or solemnise any marriage, and we take no part in a nikah.
  • We do not promise that you will find a match, receive interest, or marry. No membership tier changes this.
  • We do not act as your agent or represent you to any other member or to their family.
  • Any religious question about a proposed marriage is for you, your family and a qualified scholar — not for us.

3Member Information Is Self-Reported

Almost everything on a profile — age, marital status, profession, income, education, religious practice, prayer level, health and thalassaemia status — is entered by that member. We do not investigate it and we cannot confirm that it is true. Treat every profile as a claim to be checked, not a fact we have established.

  • We do not perform background checks, criminal record checks, credit checks or reference checks on any member.
  • Thalassaemia status shown on a profile is what that member typed. It is not a test result and must never be relied on. Both parties should obtain their own screening from a recognised medical provider before proceeding.
  • Identity verification, where a member has it, confirms only that a person's submitted document appeared to match their photographs. It says nothing about their character, conduct, history or intentions.
  • You are responsible for satisfying yourself — through your own enquiries and your family's — about anyone you consider marrying.
  • Entering false information is a breach of these terms and may lead to permanent removal.

4Wali Involvement Is a Feature, Not a Guarantee

Kaiveni Hiya lets a member invite a wali to see and approve their matches. This is a tool for keeping families involved. It is not a religious ruling, an endorsement, or a safety check performed by us.

  • We do not verify that a person invited as a wali actually holds that position under Islamic law. Only the member and their family can determine that.
  • A wali's approval of a match is that person's own decision. It is not our approval, our recommendation, or a statement that the other member is suitable or safe.
  • A wali sees the matches and profile information the member has chosen to share through the feature. It does not give anyone control over the member's account.
  • A member may pause or remove a wali's access at any time, and we may end it where an account is suspended or closed.
  • Nothing in this feature replaces the guardianship arrangements required by your religion or by Maldivian law.

5Acceptable Use

Kaiveni Hiya only works if members treat each other with respect and honesty. These rules apply to your profile, your photographs, your messages, and any contact that begins here.

  • Do not harass, threaten, insult, stalk, or repeatedly contact a member who has shown no interest.
  • Do not post or send explicit, obscene, violent, hateful or unlawful material, and do not solicit it from others.
  • Do not impersonate anyone, use another person's photographs, or misrepresent your identity, age or marital status.
  • Do not use Kaiveni Hiya to sell, advertise, recruit, solicit money or donations, or run any scheme. Never send money to a member.
  • Do not share another member's photographs, messages or personal details outside the platform without their consent.
  • Do not scrape, copy, reverse engineer, automate access to, or interfere with the security of the service.
  • Do not use the service for casual dating or any purpose other than seeking marriage.

6Meeting Other Members Is at Your Own Risk

We are not present at your conversations or your meetings, and we cannot protect you in the physical world. You alone decide who to speak to, who to meet, and what to disclose. Please take the same precautions you would with any stranger, and involve your family.

  • Meet in a public place, in daylight, and tell a family member or trusted friend where you are going and with whom.
  • Take your own transport, and do not let anyone else arrange where you stay or how you travel.
  • Never send money, share bank or card details, share an OTP, or accept a request to move money for someone — no matter the reason given.
  • Be cautious about giving out your home or workplace address, your NID or passport, or photographs you would not want shared.
  • If someone frightens or pressures you, stop, block and report them in the app. If you are in danger, contact the Maldives Police Service on 119 immediately — we are not an emergency service.

7Membership and Payment

Kaiveni Hiya is free to use with limits. Silver and Gold membership is bought on our website by bank transfer and is activated after our team has checked the transfer receipt.

  • Each approved payment activates membership for 31 days. Nothing renews automatically and we never take a payment without you sending it.
  • Membership is not sold inside the app and cannot be bought through the app stores.
  • Available features and conversation limits differ between Free, Silver and Gold, and are shown before you pay.
  • We check each receipt by hand, which takes time. Membership begins when we approve it, not when you send the transfer.
  • Membership buys access to features. It does not buy a match, an introduction, or any outcome, and fees are not refundable on that basis.
  • If we remove your account for breaking these terms, any remaining membership ends with it and is not refunded.
  • We may change prices or what each tier includes. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for.

8Your Content

Your photographs, your words and your profile remain yours. To show them to the members and walis you have chosen, we need your permission to store and display them.

  • You keep ownership of everything you upload. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce and display it for the purpose of running the service.
  • That licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for copies we must keep for safety, moderation or legal reasons.
  • You confirm you own or have the right to upload everything you post, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
  • We may remove content that breaks these terms or our guidelines, and we may do so without notice where the risk is serious.
  • We do not routinely read private messages, but we may review reported conversations to investigate a complaint.

9Suspension and Removal

We may restrict, suspend or permanently close an account. We aim to be fair and to tell you why, but where a member's safety is at stake we will act first.

  • We may act on a breach of these terms or our community guidelines, on a credible report from another member, or where the law requires it.
  • We may withhold or reverse verification, and we may reject a payment receipt we cannot confirm.
  • Where a decision was made in error, contact us and we will review it.
  • You may close your account at any time from the app. Closure is explained in our privacy policy and on our account deletion page.
  • Sections on your responsibility, our liability, indemnity and governing law survive the end of your account.

10The Service Is Provided As It Is

We work hard to keep Kaiveni Hiya running, accurate and safe, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we give no warranty beyond what the law requires us to give.

  • The service is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties.
  • We do not warrant the conduct, character, honesty, identity, health, marital status or intentions of any member.
  • We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and the service may be unavailable for maintenance, network faults, or reasons outside our control.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law does not allow us to exclude.

11Limits of Our Liability

Because we are an introduction platform and not a party to what happens between members, our responsibility is limited. Please read this section carefully — it decides what you can claim from us if something goes wrong.

  • We are not liable for the acts or omissions of any member, before, during or after an introduction — online or in person.
  • We are not liable for any loss arising from false, incomplete or misleading information a member has given about themselves, including health and thalassaemia information.
  • We are not liable for the outcome of any relationship, engagement, marriage or its ending, or for any decision you or your family take.
  • To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, opportunity, data or reputation.
  • Where we are found liable, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the membership fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or MVR 1,000.
  • This section does not limit anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including the exceptions listed above.

12Your Indemnity to Us

If your use of Kaiveni Hiya causes a claim against us, you agree to cover it.

  • You agree to indemnify Kaiveni Hiya Pvt Ltd, its directors, staff and agents against claims, losses, damages and reasonable legal costs.
  • This covers claims arising from your breach of these terms, from content you posted, or from your dealings with another member.
  • We will tell you promptly about any claim covered by this section and give you a fair chance to take part in its defence.

13Changes to These Terms

The service will change and these terms will change with it. The date at the top of this page always shows when they were last updated.

  • For significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
  • Continuing to use Kaiveni Hiya after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
  • If you do not accept a change, you may close your account.

14Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives.

  • The courts of the Republic of Maldives have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the service.
  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • If we do not enforce a right straight away, that does not mean we have given it up.
  • This agreement is between you and us. No one else may enforce it.
